Callaway Investments Sportsman Series – Tour Modifieds – Triple Crown Race 1 – June 12, 2018 – Stafford Speedway
The Callaway Investments Sportsman Series had a different look last Tuesday night, as the Tour Modifieds took over for the first round of their EastWest Modifieds Triple Crown Series.
Race Summary – The lead changed hands a few times throughout the opening 50 laps of the race, with Adam Josselyn, Conner Blaise, and Dave Bodio each leading laps early. But once Bodio reached the lead, Ty Majeski had followed up through to 2nd place and began looking for a way by. Majeski made his move into the lead on lap 43, and went on to lead the final 83 laps on the way to his 10th career win at Stafford, and his 80th career SARA victory.
Race Winner – Ty Majeski – Qualified 1st, started 10th (invert), 83 laps led
Top Five – 2nd Dave Bodio, 3rd Conner Blaise, 4th Keith Jeffery, 5th Joe Schaffer Jr.
Hard Charger – T. Beau Brannon (+10 Positions each – 21st to 11th)
Pole Winner – Ty Majeski (17.087 seconds – new track record)
EastWest Modifieds Triple Crown – With the win, Majeski leads the Triple Crown Series after one of three events.
Up Next – The Modifieds will be back in a couple weeks at NHMS, but next week the Street Stocks return for their regular season points racing with a 100-lap race at Langley.
