Callaway Investments Sportsman Series – Street Stocks – Race 7 – July 24, 2018 – Watkins Glen Classic Boot

The Street Stocks visited Watkins Glen for the season’s only road course event this past Tuesday night in a 40-minute shootout.

Race Summary – Derek Robinson took over the lead early, but with a mandatory four-tire pit stop required as part of the strategy in the race, the lead would cycle through during pit stops. Once the cycle ended, Travis Warling came out on top with David Krikorian in second place, and the two road course aces would battle it out in the closing laps. Krikorian closed in on Warling and attempted a couple passes, but finally made it happen into turn one with three laps to go and “DK” would go on to pick up the victory.

Race Winner – David Krikorian – Qualified 1st, started 8th (invert), 6 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Travis Warling, 3rd Matt Rolfe, 4th Justin Wariner, 5th Jason Miler

Hard Charger – Justin Wariner (+5 Positions – 9th to 4th)

Top Rookie – Jonathan Bergeron (14th)

Pole Winner – David Krikorian (2:04.507 seconds)

Points Battle – Joe Schaffer Jr. missed the race, but with the help of drop races he maintains a 35 point lead with just two races left on the schedule.

Up Next – This upcoming Tuesday night, the EastWest Modifieds will be on track for their third and final Triple Crown event at Myrtle Beach.
