Dirt Night – UMP Modifieds – Race 5 – July 23, 2018 – Volusia Speedway Park
The UMP Modifieds made the first and only trip of the season to Volusia this past Monday night for a 75-lap A-Main.
Race Summary – Jarrid Boiros benefitted from a 7-car invert to lead the field to the green flag and enjoyed a healthy lead over the first 25 laps. But after a pair of cautions, it wasn’t as easy for Boiros up front as Clay Snider was trying to look for a way by. The two battled for the top spot but eventually Boiros settled into a rhythm and began to pull away up front and went on to pick up his 3rd win of the season.
Race Winner – Jarrid Boiros – Started 1st, 75 laps led
Top Five – 2nd Clay Snider, 3rd Trevor Edwards, 4th Tim Bills, 5th Evan Sorensen
Heat Winners – David Krikorian & Tim Bills
Points Battle – With the victory, Jarrid Boiros extended his overall series points lead up to 22 points over Clay Snider with three events remaining on the schedule.
Up Next – The Midgets will take their turn at Volusia next week for their own 40-lap A-Main.
