Krikorian Tops Warling as Latest Road King

Last night the Callaway Investments Sportsman Series ran their first ever event at Daytona, but down in the infield on the Short road course as the only road course event of the season. The two favorites, David Krikorian and Travis Warling were found at the top of the leaderboards all night. Krikorian picked up the pole with Warling 2nd in qualifying before being inverted back. As the race progressed, Krikorian took over the lead on lap 6 and held the lead until he went down pit road, handing the lead to Warling. But when Warling pitted and the pit cycle ended, Krikorian was back out in front by 7 seconds and he would go on to pick up the race victory, his 22nd career SARA win and his 12th on a road course.

Travis Warling finished the night off in 2nd place and extended his points lead out to 30 points heading into next week’s race at Southern National.

Pole Award – David Krikorian – 43.246 seconds
Hard Charger – N/A
Rookie of the Race – 6th Place – Christian Pedersen
