Martin Moves Up The Inside To Take Irwindale Win

Last night the Dunleavy’s Modified Series ran a 100-lap feature at the Irwindale Speedway for the 5th race of their season. Darrell Hamlin scored the pole on the night with a new track record with a lap of 15.942 seconds. After a 6-car invert, Richie Davidowitz led the field to the green but it didn’t last long as Cayden Lapcevich took over on lap 5. During the opening green flag run, Bill Martin was charging up the inside groove from his 11th starting spot, and executed a slide job into the lead on lap 16. Martin would hold off the field throughout the remainder of the race, to pick up his 3rd Modified Series victory of the season, and his 52nd career SARA win.

With the victory, Bill Martin extended his points lead out to 28 points heading into next week’s race at Southern National.
