The Sportsman Street Stock Series headed into Oxford Plains Speedway last night for a 75 lap race, hoping for a much cleaner and less controversial event than at Thompson. David Fields took the pole and was the class of the field as it didn’t seem like anyone had anything for him. The cation flag only flew four times for a total of 19 laps in a much cleaner race.
There was a good battle with some bumping up front for the 2nd spot between Clay Snider and Ronald Williams, but it would be Snider who would end up finishing second, with Williams, Mike Belanger and Scott Dunlap rounding out the top 5. With Field’s win, he narrowed the gap in the points standings to just 10 points behind Snider who leads.
Next week the series heads to South Boston for 75 laps.
