The Button Box Shop Super Series visited the Martinsville Speedway this past Thursday night for the 10th race of the season in the Dean’s Satellite & Security 125. Here’s some quick hits on what happened at the paperclip:

Race Winner – Joe Schaffer Jr. drove under Derek Robinson on lap 29 to take over the lead, and held onto the lead for the final 97 laps, at one point leading by nearly 4.5 seconds on his way to his 2nd win of the season, and his 28th career SARA victory.

Dean’s Satellite & Security Pole Award – Joe Schaffer Jr. with a new track record of 18.350 seconds

Hard Charger – 14th to 7th (+7) – Devon Rogers moved up into the top ten where he ran for most of the night before picking up his first career Super Series top ten finish.

Biggest Loser – 9th to 21st (-12) – Bill Martin started inside the top ten but got tangled up in a lap 20 caution with Matt Kocher that relegated Martin to a 21st place finish.

Rookie of the Race – 5th Place – Travis Warling started on the pole after the invert and led 11 laps before falling back as far as 10th, and ended the night with his best career Super Series finish.

Title Fight – Matt Kocher, Matt Rolfe, and Derek Robinson entered the night just 4 points apart. Kocher and Rolfe were both collected in incidents that dropped them to 9th and 10th place finishes respectively, while Robinson had a solid night finishing 2nd. Robinson takes over the points lead by 12 points over Rolfe and 15 points over Kocher, with just two races remaining in the season. Richie Davidowitz and David Krikorian are still long shots, but both sit within 31 points of the lead.
