Sim Marketing Solutions Super Series – Super Late Models – Round 6 – November 8, 2018 – Irwindale Speedway (Inner)
Round 6 of the Super Series saw drivers take on the Irwindale Speedway, but for just the second time in the division, the 1/3-mile Inner configuration was used for the Race1.us Irwindale 150.
Race Summary – Dallas Pataska started at the front of the field following the 7-car invert, but quickly it was third place starter Jim Caudill Jr. that was looking under him for the lead on lap 3. The race saw plenty of side-by-side battles throughout the field with a number of loose race cars, but Caudill looked comfy out front. Jimmy Mullis was able to hang on the rear number throughout a couple runs, however Caudill was able to hold him and the rest of the field off during a couple late restarts and went on to pick up his 7th career win.
Race Winner – Jim Caudill Jr. – Started 3rd (invert), 147 laps led
Top Five – 2nd Chris Canfield, 3rd Jimmy Mullis, 4th Ryan Matthews, 5th Ryan Doucette
Pole Winner – Jimmy Mullis (14.176 seconds)
Hard Charger – Devon Morgan (+14 positions, 20th to 6th)
Points Battle – Following Irwindale, and with two drop races now factored into the standings, things have tightened up and Jimmy Mullis leads by just 11 points.
HidesPride Head2Head Throwdown – Row 1 on the grid was selected at random for drivers to compete head-to-head, with Ryan Matthews (4th) finishing ahead of Dallas Pataska (9th) to win the Throwdown.
