Caudill Closes The Gap With 3rd Win At So. National

Sim Marketing Solutions Super Series – Super Late Models – Race 9 – July 26, 2018 – Southern National Motorsports Park

For Round 9, the Super Series took on the high banks of Southern National for 150 laps in the Canadian Railserve 150.

Race Summary – After a trio of cautions in the opening stages of the race, Ryan Matthews was at the front of the field when a lap 33 restart would lead to a green flag run to the finish. Camaron Hamilton stalked Matthews until lap 70 when he was able to take the lead, but he brought Jim Caudill Jr. with him. Hamilton’s lead was short lived as Caudill Jr. worked his way into the lead on lap 91. As the laps wound down, Caudill Jr. had to hold off a late charge by David Krikorian and was able to go on to pick up his 3rd win of the season.

Race Winner – Jim Caudill Jr. – Qualified 5th, started 10th (handicap), 60 laps led

Top Five – 2nd David Krikorian, 3rd Tim Bills, 4th Ryan Matthews, 5th Tyler Price

Hard Charger – Keith Medeiros (+8 positions gained)

Pole Winner – Bill Martin (13.656 seconds)

Points Battle – With Joe Schaffer Jr. having a less than average finish of 8th which was a drop race, Jim Caudill Jr. closed the points gap down to just 15 points leaving Southern National.

HidesPride Head2Head Throwdown – Row 9 on the grid was selected at random for drivers to compete head-to-head, with Michael Goddard (15th) finishing ahead of AJ Rogers (21st) to win the Throwdown.
