Bills Bolts To The Front In Southern National Victory

The Button Box Shop Super Series took on Southern National Motorsports Park last Thursday night in the Dean’s Satellite & Security 150. A total of 34 drivers would attempt to qualify for the fourth race of the season, with 30 cars starting the feature event.

Race Winner – After getting the pole being inverted back to 7th for the start of the race, Tim Bills quickly climbed back to the front of the field and took the lead by lap 13. From there, Bills controlled the rest of the race as the field battled it out behind him, but during a late run Ty Spearman started cutting into his lead until spinning with a handful of laps to go. Bills would face one more restart and held off one last charge from Matt Rolfe, and went on to lead 138 laps en route to his 20th career SARA victory.

Pole Award – Before picking up the win, Tim Bills also added his 38th career pole with a lap of 13.225 seconds.

Hard Charger – Russell Berry used a provisional to make the field, but then gained 14 spots on the night to finish 16th.

Biggest Loser – Logan Runyon had a strong qualifying effort for the second week in a row but connection issues led to an early race crash which dropped him down 21 spots to finish 26th.

Rookie of the Race – Christian Challiner rebounded this week, running around the top five all night before climbing up to finish 3rd.

Title Fight – Christian Pedersen finish 7th on the night despite running in the top three for most of it, but still maintains his points lead by 12 points after four weeks, leading into this week’s race at The Milwaukee Mile.
