Hudson Adds Second Win At Williams Grove

This past Wednesday night, the Late Model Series made their second trip to Williams Grove for a 75-lap feature event.

Race Winner – Dante Curtis led the opening laps of the race after being shuffled to the front of the field after qualifying, but a hard-charging Tyler Hudson was making quick work of the top five and was gaining ground on the leaders. Hudson would move past Adam Benefiel on lap 13 to take 2nd, and by lap 19 Hudson would nose ahead of Dante Curtis for the lead. From there, Hudson held control of the lead and went on to lead the final 57 laps to pick up his 2nd win of the season, and his 4th career SARA victory.

Heat Winners – Tyler Hudson moved up from 3rd to win Heat #1 while Cameron Higgins also moved up from the 4th spot to take the Heat #2 victory.

Hard Charger – For the second straight week, a Heat Race incident would leave Joe Schaffer Jr. starting 16th on the grid, and he would once again move up 14 spots on the night to finish 2nd.

Title Fight – Ty Spearman would run into some bad luck when he got caught up in a lap 30 caution, which dropped him down to a 10th place finish. As a result, the points gap out front shrinks down to just 4 points over Joe Schaffer Jr.

Up Next – Next week the series will head to the USA International Speedway for not one, but two features as they’ll make up the postponed race from earlier in the season, followed by a second feature. This will be the most important night in the championship battle with the potential of a big points swing after the night.

Other Notables – Joe Schaffer Jr., Adam Benefiel, and Clay Snider would finish 2nd through 4th for the second week in a row, with Schaffer going from 16th to 2nd in both races as well. Tyler Hudson becomes the second driver to win two Late Model Series races, joining Ty Spearman.
