On Tuesday night, the Street Stocks took back over the Callaway Investments/Midwest Powersource Sportsman Series for a 75-lap feature event at the Langley Speedway.

Race Winner – Joe Schaffer Jr. worked his way by Tim Bills on lap 43 to take the lead, and held on for the final restart with a lap to go to pick up his 34th career SARA victory.

Race Summary – Colin Allman started on the pole for the feature and led through the race’s first caution early on. Shortly after the restart, Tim Bills took over out front and looked to run and hide as much as possible because Joe Schaffer Jr. would make a charge during the 57-lap green flag run. Schaffer would finally getting a nose under Bills for the lead on lap 43 to take the top spot, and then began to pull away late in the run. That would change when two cars got together right in front of the leaders with 7 to go, and both Schaffer and Bills would receive damage, but Schaffer was able to hold off the field on the final restart to pick up the victory. Allman got by Bills on the final restart for 2nd, with Trevor Edwards and Brandon Wilkinson rounding out the top five.

Heat Winners – Matt Rolfe and Tim Bills each moved up in their respective Heat Races to take the victories.

Hard Charger – Austin Jones moved up a pair of spots in the feature to finish 8th on the night.

SS Title Fight – Tim Bills left Langley with a third place finish which is enough to take over the points lead for the Sportsman Street Stock division, where just two points separate the top four.

Combined Title Fight – The podium finish also helps Bills keep the overall Sportsman Series points lead by 20 points.

Up Next – Next week the Late Model Sportsman will take back over for their second race, a 100-lap race at Southern National.
