For the first time since July of 2014, the Callway Investments Sportsman Series visited the South Boston Speedway in an event that was not the division’s season finale. Tim Bills picked up the pole award, matching the track record with a lap of 16.091 seconds, but would end up facing connection issues that prevented him from contending for the win. A 9-car invert brought Clay Snider to the front of the field for the green and he looked strong early on as he led the opening 79 laps. Behind him, Matt Rolfe picked his way up to the 2nd spot, and made his move down to the apron under Snider on the final run of the race, taking the lead with 21 laps remaining. Rolfe would extend his gap out to over a second by the checkered flag as he picked up his 19th career SARA victory. With a top five run, Travis Warling leaves SoBo with the points lead.
