On Tuesday night, the Sprint Series and the 360 Non-Wing Sprint cars made their first trip to Volusia for a 40-lap race in the Gator Cup.
Race Winner – Dave Bodio started up front after the Pole Shuffle, but on lap 9 a three-wide battle for the lead resulted with contact amongst Bodio and Kenneth Drake for the top spot. Drake was able to continue on, and then dominated the rest of the race leading the final 32 laps for back to back wins, and his 2nd career SARA victory.
Heat Winners – Kenneth Drake and Jared Turnbull both picked up Heat Race victories.
Hard Charger – Matt Eddy started at the tail of the field and gained 7 spots on the night for a 12th place finish to earn the hard charger bonus.
Biggest Loser – Ty Spearman started up on the front row in 2nd but got caught up in a couple incidents throughout the race which dropped him to a 17th place finish.
Title Fight – With the win, Kenneth Drake leaped up to the points lead and leads David Krikorian by just 3 points heading into next week’s race at USA.
