The TUNDRA Super Sim Series presented by LOKOTOCO Designs were back on track this past Thursday night at the South Boston Speedway, for the 8th race of the season with the Doctor Noise 150.
Race Winner – Jimmy Mullis quickly worked his way up from 9th to lead by lap 49, and never looked back for his 4th career SARA win.
Race Summary – A six car invert before the drop of the green put Dallas Pataska at the front of the field, and he would remain up front for the first 40 laps. But the action at the front of the field heated up as Tim Bills would work his way into the lead, but it was short lived as Jimmy Mullis followed him through and then took the lead himself by lap 49. After a couple of restarts, Mullis had his hands full with Colin Allman who would get some good jumps, but during the green flag runs, Mullis would pull away just like he did on the final run as he would go on to win by 1.6 seconds.
Pole Award – Joe Schaffer Jr. laid down the fast lap of the night for his 30th career SARA pole.
Hard Charger – Kyle Souza started back in the 18th position, and gained 13 spots on his way to a top five finish.
Rookie of the Race – Zack Novak again put himself towards the front of the field with a 3rd place finish and he continues to lead the Rookie standings.
Title Fight – With the victory, Mullis extends his points lead out to a comfortable 30 points with only three races left on the schedule.
Up Next – Next week the series will head out to The Milwaukee Mile for the Back40 Wraps 100, the third and final event of the Triple Crown which will also wrap up the EPYK Challenge Week.
