This past Thursday night the TUNDRA Super Sim Series took on the South Boston Speedway for the Lokotoco Designs 150 for the 5th race of the season.

Race Winner – A night after winning the non-winners race, Trevor Edwards used the race invert to start up front and led every lap for his first Super Sim Series victory.

Race Summary – The 9-car invert brought Trevor Edwards to the front of the field for the green flag and he jumped out to the lead on some of the early restarts. It wasn’t easy for him though as David Krikorian spent much of the race within a couple of car lengths, waiting for his chance to make his move. That chance came after a lap 81 restart ad Krikorian was able to hang on the outside of Edwards for the lead, but Trevor Edwards would hold the advantage by just thousands of a second for 8 laps before finally being able to regain the advantage. Edwards would go on to lead every lap for his 11th career SARA win.

Pole Award – Colin Allman added his 2nd pole of the season with a lap of 13.787 to set a new track record by just .005 seconds.

Hard Charger – Russell Berry started last from the 30th spot to finish 11th, gaining 19 positions on the night.

Rookie of the Race – Jared Duda ran his first career race and finished 9th as the top rookie.

Title Fight – Joe Schaffer Jr. continues to pick up solid top five finishes and now leads the standings by 42 points over David Krikorian.

Up Next – The TUNDRA Super Sim Series returns next week with the first event of their Triple Crown with a 150 lap race at Irwindale.
