Sim Marketing Solutions Super Series – Super Late Models – Race 5 – June 21, 2018 – Oxford Plains

The Super Series traveled up to Maine for Round 5 of the season, taking on Oxford for 150 laps in the HidesPride.com 150.

Race Summary – Darrell Hamlin led the field to the green flag after the six car invert, but gave up the lead to Jim Caudill Jr. in the early laps. Caudill was able to jump out in front after some early restarts as some netcode and server issues caused a couple first-half cautions. But in the second half of the race, Caudill was still able to pull away from Ryan Matthews and Joe Schaffer Jr. and enjoyed a comfy lead while going on to pick up the win after dominating the night for his 3rd career SARA win.

Race Winner – Jim Caudill – Qualified 5th, started 2nd (invert), 136 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Ryan Matthews, 3rd Joe Schaffer Jr., 4th Ty Spearman, 5th Camaron Hamilton

Hard Chargers – Ryan Matthews, Kyle Souza, Alan Pajari, Russell Berry (+7 positions gained each)

Points Battle – A podium finish for Schaffer Jr. added to his points lead which sat at 54 points as the series left Oxford.

HidesPride Head2Head Throwdown – Row 5 on the grid was selected at random for drivers to compete head-to-head, with Ryan Matthews (2nd) finishing ahead of Michael Goddard (16th) to win the Throwdown.
