The 2017 Spring Season kicked off last night with the Modified Series taking on the Richmond International Raceway for 100 laps. Bill Martin scored the pole, and then charged to the front of the field after being inverted back to 8th and took over the race lead on lap 8. Martin would hold off charges from Joe Schaffer, Tim Bills, and Derek Robinson throughout the race, but the cautions would be timed out just perfectly and Martin would hold on to pick up the opening night victory, and his 49th career SARA win.
