Callaway Investments Modified Series – Tour Modifieds – Round 2 – Sept. 25, 2018 – Myrtle Beach Speedway

In Round 2 of the Modified Series last Tuesday night, 39 drivers attempted to qualify for just 30 spots in the 100-lap feature event.

Race Summary – Dante Curtis led the field to green and led the first half of the race up until Colin Allman started to put the pressure on out front. Allman worked his way under Curtis as the two battled side-by-side for nearly 10 laps before Allman gained the advantage. But behind them, Ty Majeski was lurking and was able to stay within a couple car lengths of the lead for the next 20 laps before diving under Allman for the top spot on lap 78, and he never looked back on his way to his 80th career points paying victory.

Race Winner – Ty Majeski – Qualified 2nd, started 7th (8-car invert), 23 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Colin Allman, 3rd Ryan Doucette, 4th Kyle Souza, 5th Matt Rolfe

Hard Chargers – Kyle Souza, Travis McKinney, Dale Owen (+17 positions each)

Pole Winner – Colin Allman – 16.910 seconds – new track record

Up Next – Tonight the Mods will take on the tight South Boston Speedway for 125 laps under the lights.
