Callaway Investments Modified Series – Tour Modifieds – Round 7 – Oct. 30, 2018 – Irwindale Speedway
Last Tuesday night, the Modifieds took on the Outer configuration of Irwindale for a 100-lap event.
Race Summary – Michael Goddard used the invert to start out front and led the opening 21 laps of the race. Jimmy Mullis was able to use the outside groove to his advantage after a restart however, and moved himself up into the lead. After surviving a few incidents prior to halfway, Conner Blaise began charging to the front to battle Mullis for the lead. Blaise worked to the inside of Mullis for nearly 10 laps before completing the pass, and eventually went on to pick up his 2nd win of the season.
Race Winner – Conner Blaise – Qualified 11th, 31 laps led
Top Five – 2nd Jimmy Mullis, 3rd Colin Allman, 4th Michael Goddard, 5th Adam Josselyn
Hard Chargers – John Perkins, Brad Carpenter (+12 positions each)
Pole Winner – Colin Allman – 16.246 seconds
Points Battle – With the win, Conner Blaise takes over the points lead ahead of Trevor Edwards who had trouble during the event.
Up Next – Tonight the Modified Series travels down to Florida before next week’s Fall Brawl events as they get set to take on New Smyrna for 100 laps.
