Callaway Investments Modified Series – Tour Modifieds – Round 11 – December 18, 2018 – Lanier National Speedway

This past Tuesday night the Modified Series wrapped up their 2018 Fall Season with a 125-lap feature at Lanier. Despite a lower car count than normal, there was plenty of action at the front of the field to make up for it.

Race Summary – After some early battles, Ryan Doucette took over the race lead, and was able to extend it out to a sizable amount before a lap 44 yellow erased his lead. After the restart, the fight up front began to heat up as Conner Blaise had recovered to work his way forward, and he would challenge Doucette for the top spot. Over the next 50 laps Blaise was all over the rear bumper for the lead but it wasn’t until Doucette made a slight mistake the opened up the door. After a side-by-side battle for the next 10 laps, eventually Blaise would prevail and held on to pick up his 3rd win of the season.

Race Winner – Conner Blaise – Started 4th (6-car invert), 12 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Ryan Doucette, 3rd Keith Jeffery, 4th Matt Eddy, 5th Matt Rolfe

Pole Winner – Keith Jeffery – 11.770 seconds – new track record

Rookie of the Season – Ryan Doucette would finish off his first season in the modifieds with a runner up finish in the points standings, but first in the rookie standings with 75 of a possible 80 points to earn Rookie of the Season honors.

Champion – Conner Blaise wrapped up his championship season in victory lane, and finished with a 69 point gap in the final standings. Congrats to Conner Blaise, the 2018 Fall Season Callaway Investments Modified Series champion.
