The Sportsman Street Stock Series took on the bullring of Lanier National Speedway last night for a 75 lap race. Ronald Williams began his dominating performance early with a pole time of 15.958.
Clean racing prevailed as the caution flag flew just 5 times, mostly for single car spins off of Lanier’s slippery apron. Williams would hold off the filed on those restarts, and would go on to lead every green flag lap and had no real contender for his top spot throughout the race. He would go on to win his first SS win, and his 3rd of the SARA season (2 Legends wins). Mike Belanger would beat out Clay Snider for second on the final restart, with Scott Dunlap and Matt Rolfe rounding out the top 5.
Points leader David Fields would have a rough night with an 11th place finish, handing the points lead over to Clay Snider at the half way point of the season.
Next week the series makes its first trip to Langley. For full results of last night’s race, as well as standings, click HERE.
