The Sportsman Street Stocks Series made the trip up north to Maine on Tuesday night, for a 75-lap event at the Oxford Plains Speedway. Kevin J Myers set the fast time in qualifying to take his 7th career SARA pole.

As Myers brought the field around for the green flag, he chose to start in the outside groove, but a good start by James Linkiewicz on the bottom allowed him to take the lead early. Just three cautions flew on the night, and on each one Linkiewicz would pull away in the lead, including the final run where he stretched his lead out to over two seconds as he was on his way to pick up the victory. Linkiewicz led all 75 laps on the night for his 2nd career SARA victory, both coming in the last two Street Stock races for back-to-back wins.

Behind Linkiewicz, Brian Tedeschi finished in the 2nd position after running in that spot for a majority of the race, while Corey Wharton rounded out the podium with a 3rd place finish in his first career SARA race. Joe Schaffer worked his way back up to a 4th place finish after recovering from an opening lap incident, with Dale Owen also recovered from an early race spin to round out the top five.

Just behind them, Dylan Estrella picked up a quiet 6th place finish, with Ian Layne and Matt Rolfe right on his bumper in the closing laps as they finished in the 7th and 8th spots respectively. Mike Rhyno hung on for 9th place finish, while Austin Yarbrough rounded out the top ten despite a late spin in the closing laps.

With his third top five in as many race, Joe Schaffer extended his points lead out to 15 points over 2nd in the standings.
