On Tuesday night, the Sportsman Street Stock Series took their turn in Pensacola at the Five Flags Speedway. The 75-lap event saw 17 cars hit the track, and it was Casey Kelley who took the pole by setting the fast lap.

Kelley would lead the field to the green flag, and quickly jumped out to a half-second lead over Joe Schaffer Jr. After a pair of yellows around laps 20 and 25, the field settled back in on a green flag run that lasted to the finish. The long run allowed Kelley to extend his lead until Kevin J Myers moved into second place and tried chasing the leader down. Myers would close in on the rear bumper of Kelley, but Kelley wouldn’t be phased as he held onto the lead and brought the field around to claim the victory. The win would be Kelley’s 3rd career SARA victory, and his 2nd of the season.

Myers would come up just short after chasing the leader down to finish in the 2nd spot, not far behind. Matt Rolfe made his way through the top ten during the long run to round out the podium in 3rd. Schaffer ran near the front all race long and would finish in 4th, while Ryan Borges worked his way up from outside of the top ten twice to pick up a top five finish.

Just outside the top five, Bobby Worley grabbed the 6th spot in his first career SARA race. After starting towards the back, Dale Owen worked his way into the top five at one point during the race and would finish 7th. Ian Layne and Russell Berry both started the race inside the top ten, each dropped out of the top ten, but would work their way back up into 8th and 9th place finishes, respectively, with Clay Snider rounding out the top ten in 10th. Rolfe, Borges, and Owen would each gain 12 spots during the race which made them the biggest movers of the night.

With his 5th top five in five race, Joe Schaffer continues to hang onto the points lead by 21 points over 2nd in the standings.
