Mullis Strikes For Dirt Night Season Opening Win

On Monday night, the 2019 Spring Season kicked off with Dirt Night and the first round of the Pro Late Model season. A total of 35 drivers attempted to qualify for just 24 spots in the 75 lap A-Main

Race Summary – Jordan Erickson led the field to the green flag and controlled the race in the early stages. Behind Erickson, Devon Morgan was working his way forward and began challenging for the lead by lap 35, however a few laps later as Morgan threw a big slider, the two would make contact. This allowed Jimmy Mullis to take advantage as he ducked to the bottom three wide and came out on the other side with the lead. Over the final 35 laps, Mullis held off Morgan for the top spot and ended the night in victory lane, picking up his 12th career SARA victory.

Race Winner – Jimmy Mullis – Started 19th, 35 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Devon Morgan, 3rd Matt Rolfe, 4th Jordan Erickson, 5th Fred Moreau

Heat Winners – TJ White, Greg Netherwood, Devon Morgan, Zack Novak

Russell Brown Race Cars Driver of the Race – Matt Rolfe was the highest finishing driver with the RBRC logos on his rear spoiler in 3rd place.

Points Battle – The season opening victory puts Jimmy Mullis at the top of the standings after Round 1 by 6 points.
