Last Wednesday night, the Dirt Late Model Series ran a double header at USA Speedway. With two races on tap, Time Trials were used to set the grid with the top 8 cars handicapped based on points.

Race 1 Winner – Dillon Raffurty took the lead away from Clay Snider on lap 51 and was able to secure is 4th straight win in the division.

Race 1 Summary – Clay Snider started on the pole and led the first 51 laps while being strongly contested by Dillon Raffurty and Matt Rolfe. Shortly after lap 51, Snider would run out of fuel leaving Rolfe a few more laps to try a run at Raffurty but was unsuccessful as Raffurty would hang on for the victory.

Race 1 Hard Charger – Devin Johnson started 13th and worked his way up to a 7th place finish.

Race 2 Winner – Once again, Dillon Raffurty would go on to stake his claim as force to be reckoned with, winning his 5th straight Dirt Late Model race.

Race 2 Summary – A six car invert would see Davey Scovel start on the pole and lead the first 56 laps. Dillon Raffurty had his work cut out for him after starting 6th and then an early caution would send him towards the back of the field. Raffurty would eventually back up his recent dominance to lead the final 8 laps of the race.

Race 2 Hard Charger – Clay Snider started 11th in the second feature due to running out of fuel in the first race. He would rally his way up to finish 6th.

Title Fight – Matt Rolfe closed the gap with his 2nd and 4th places finishes on Chris Watkins to within 20 points.

Up Next – The Dirt Late Models will next be at Eldora Speedway on November 1st for a 100 lap feature.
