This past Wednesday night, the Dirt Late Model Series ran it’s first race at the new Lanier Dirt track with a 100-lap feature event for the 4th race of the season.

Race Winner – Dillon Raffurty worked his way by Dante Curtis on lap 32, and never looked back as he went on to pick up his 3rd straight win in the division.

Race Summary – Nick Lancaster grabbed the lead from the outside groove on the opening green flag and held onto for 16 laps before Dante Curtis made his way up the inside groove to take over out front. As Curtis moved forward, Dillon Raffurty was doing the same as he moved into 2nd, and then challenged Curtis for the lead on lap 32 for the top spot. From there, Raffurty controlled the remainder of the race, and held off one last attempt by Curtis in the late laps, and would go on to pick up his 6th career SARA victory.

Heat Winners – Matt Rolfe and Darrell Hamlin each won their Heat Races from the pole, while Dave Bodio won from 3rd in Heat 3.

Hard Charger – Chris Watkins started deep in the field, and needed the entire race to work his way into a top five finish, gaining 15 spots.

Title Fight – Chris Watkins extends his points lead up to 32 points as many other contenders had issues throughout the night.

Up Next – The Dirt Late Models will be off next week, and will return on October 25th for a double header at USA.
